DeKalb District 428 prepares for 'major restructuring' | Daily Chronicle

If correct, this comment tells it all.  The real question is how can DeKalb’s administration not be aware of these state requirements—might it be that “adequate yearly progress” is something which the administration does not care about?  If the administration did not get a board approved pay raise would they “miss” that fact?

"Why is one of the most important elements left out of this story? The admission during last night's board meeting that this restructuring plan was due two months ago and an extension was given by the state because the district somehow did not realize that they were required to do this. So now the administration will have about two weeks to throw together a school improvement plan. The board won't have any time to consider it, because if they don't approve it at the next meeting we lose all our title I funding. Are we going to see scores improve in classes of 35 next year?"
